The original kitchen was tired and did not lend itself at all well to the entertaining family space our clients wished for. Furthermore the kitchen was on its own at the back of the house whilst the dining room was back out of the kitchen and down the hall.

Our clients who love to entertain and have friends round for dinner wanted to create a social space and unify the link between family, entertaining and sustenance.

Together we developed ideas and recommended that we remove the existing partition wall and create a small extension at the rear corner of the house that would link the dining room, living area and kitchen together. This would also let more light into the area.

With the island being almost 4m long Corian was the obvious choice due to its seamless nature. The hood is wifi enabled and can be programmed to come on automatically when the hob is turned on.

Informal dining on the island for 4-5 people was incorporated at one end, the integrated wine fridge located within easy reach.

Soft sand grey glossy lacquers are combined with dark wood accents and cream porcelain tiles to achieve an elegant and stylish look. Our clients were absolutely delighted with the finished space and now spend most of their time in their new family space.
